Halloween in England🎃

Halloween, a contraction of All Hallows' Eve, is a celebration observed on 31 October, the day before the feast of All Hallows'.
In the past, on All Souls' Eve families would stay up late, and little "soul cakes" were eaten. At the stroke of midnight, there was solemn silence among households, which had candles burning in every room to guide the souls back to visit their earthly homes and a glass of wine on the table to refresh them. The tradition of giving soul cakes that originated in Great Britain and Ireland was known as souling, often seen as the origin of modern trick or treating in North America, and souling continued in parts of England as late as the 1930s, with children going from door to door singing songs and saying prayers for the dead in return for cakes or money.
American-style Halloween celebrations have become increasingly popular with shops decorated with witches and pumpkins, and young people attending costume parties.

Red string of fate

The red string of fate is a legend of Chinese origin. According to tradition, each person brings, from birth, an invisible red thread tied to the little finger of the left hand that binds him to his soulmate. The thread has the characteristic of being indestructible: the two people are destined to meet and to get married.Wei was a man who, orphaned of both parents, wanted to get married and have a big family; He had grown up without being able to find a woman who would become his wife.
During a trip Wei met, on the steps of a temple, a man leaning with his back to a lot that was consulting a book. Wei asked the man what he was reading; the man said to be the God of marriages and, after looking at the book, she told Wei that his wife was now a child of three years and would have to wait another fourteen years before you know it. Wei, disappointed by the answer, he asked what was in the bag; the man replied that in there was the thread that was used to bind the feet of husbands and wives. That thread is invisible and impossible to cut, so once two people are related to each other will be destined to marry regardless of their behavior or by events that they will live. These words did not convince Wei that, to feel free to choose from the only woman to marry, he ordered his servant to kill the girl to become his wife. The servant stabbed the girl but not killed: the hurted in the head and Wei, after those events, continued his usual life in search of his wife.Fourteen years later, Wei, still unmarried, met a beautiful seventeen year old girl from a wealthy family and married her. She always wore a cloth on the forehead and Wei, after many years, asked why not if took away even to wash. The woman, in tears, told  that when he was three years he was stabbed by a man and that was a scar on his forehead; shame hid with the cloth. At those words Wei, remembering the encounter with the God of weddings and order that the said to his servant, confided to the woman that it was he groped to kill her. Once Wei and his wife were aware of the story you loved more than before and lived serene and happy.
